Prayer and Pastoral Care
In a world that is broken and hurting, the Christian community has a great opportunity to show God’s love in prayerful and practical ways.
Prayer
At Kalgoorlie Baptist Church, we believe prayer is vital for every activity; without seeking God’s guidance and power, our programs and ministries would not be effective. We have seen prayer answered in powerful ways, beyond what we could hope for or even imagine, and in ways that shows God knows best.
Prayer Meetings
As well as prayer during our Sunday services, in our home groups and other ministries, there are two prayer meetings held each week and anyone is welcome to come along to either group as they are able:
Wednesday 7.00am at the Hope Café at KBC
Thursday 5:30-6:30pm in the Cry Room at KBC
There have also been occasions where intensive prayer meetings have been called at short notice in emergency situations. We thank God for our prayer warriors, who are often unseen, but who faithfully intercede for those in need.
Please speak with Pastor Eliot if you would like prayer for yourself or a situation that is important to you.
Pastoral Care
As a caring body of Christ, the KBC community is willing to assist in practical ways as the need arises. This may be anything from sharing with someone in hospital to providing a meal for a new family or even emergency assistance for someone in need. As we support our own church family, we are also able to reach out to others within the wider community.
Quick Response Team
Pastor Eliot has a team of people who have indicated that they are willing to assist in providing Pastoral Care under the following categories:
- I love visiting people at home but I’m scared of hospitals
- I love visiting people and I’m not scared of hospitals
- I love cooking for people but I’m not that keen on visiting
- I love to help people and I’m handy with the tools
- I don’t think I’m that flash at anything in particular but I’m a great listener
If you know of a need, please let Pastor Eliot know so he can connect our team to swing into action.
